Australian government research body CSIRO is not giving in on its claim to Wi-Fi patents.  Manufacturers have to watch out, because they may be getting sued.  See what’s happening in this informative article.

CSIRO Patent details ?
Wlanman (IP:71.106.23.94) 2007-10-03 12:46:57

Having been in IT for over 30 years, it has been my observation that most IT related patents given by the the US Patent Office should never have been granted. The ideas they claim are almost always obvious to anyone in the field. Look at Boole and Babbage's claim for any action taken during a timer interrupt, or Elk Industries claim on keypad input - both total hogwash. However, I am still open to the possibility of new patentable ideas. Just exactly what is in the CSIRO patent that makes it valid? The article doesn't say.
